- Wanaka is a town in the Otago region of the South Island of New Zealand. It is situated at the southern end of Lake Wanaka, adjacent to the outflow of the lake to the Clutha River. It is the gateway to Mount Aspiring National Park.
Roys Peak, Wanaka
Best viewed "original" size. Lake Wanaka from Roys Peak (Mt Roy). 1578m - a 1200m climb from the car park below. After the walk up we put on another couple of layers, had lunch and waited for the cloud to burn off - this was the reward.
